SOP: Evaluate Entity SEO Fit

Goal

Decide whether a site is a good candidate for entity-based SEO and Entity Clouds-style growth.

Inputs

  • Website URL
  • Primary products/services
  • Current keyword targets
  • Existing topical authority/content clusters
  • Local/national market scope
  • Current rankings and traffic trend

Steps

  1. Identify the business's core entities: brand, services, locations, people, products, categories.
  2. Map each entity to existing site pages.
  3. Check whether Google can clearly connect the brand to its services and categories.
  4. Look for thin keyword-only pages that lack entity relationships.
  5. Review whether the site already has supporting content explaining the topic ecosystem.
  6. Prioritize missing entity pages, schema opportunities, and internal links.
  7. Decide fit:
    • Strong fit: existing SEO foundation, unclear entity/topic relationships.
    • Medium fit: newer site, needs foundational pages first.
    • Weak fit: no clear offer, poor technical health, or no indexable content.

Output

A short recommendation: Good fit, Needs prep, or Not ready with 3 supporting reasons.
